Malibu Road Improvement District

The Board of Supervisors met today in Kingman where they held a public hearing about the Malibu Road Improvement District in Golden Valley.

Of the 74 parcels affected by the proposed surfacing and chip sealing project, 33 have submitted written protests against the project. A majority of 38 written protests would be required to halt the project.

The majority of the people who spoke in favor of the project, sited health concerns due to dust being kicked up by passing vehicles; while those opposed to the projected stated that the cost to them would create a financial hardship.

The estimated cost of the project amounts to $326,223, of which $4408 will be passed along to each of the 74 parcel owners which can be paid annually over a period of time not to exceed 10 years.
