109-degree temperatures increased difficulty and danger for firefighters who battle structure fires in north Kingman Thursday. Assistant Kingman Fire Chief Keith Eaton said the blaze broke out about 2:30 p.m. on a large lot in the 3900 block of Northfield Avenue.

``Fire personnel worked to contain the fire to the property of origin, but because of the extremely heavy fire loads within the structures and property, the fire spread to other structures on adjacent properties,” Eaton said. He said three homes, a storage building and ten vehicles were scorched in the fire.

No injuries are reported and the cause of the blaze is under investigation. Eaton thanked personnel from other fire agencies that assisted the Kingman Fire Department and Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District.
